Ryan’s Profile

For over 20 years, Ryan has been committed to English education at various grade levels and schools, both public and private.

In Japan, while working for the Board of Education, he taught English at high schools and conducted professional development and training sessions for elementary and junior high school English teachers. He was also involved in curriculum development workshops for English classes. He also taught business English classes at Nissan Automobile Engineering School.

Since returning to the United States, he has been teaching English at middle and high schools, including ESL classes for students whose first language is not English. Beyond regular classes, he has been providing instruction on how to study for SAT Reading and Writing, and how to craft effective college application essays while also offering college admissions counseling.

Ryan has helped many students improve their SAT scores and essay writing skills, with some students even being praised in their college acceptance letters for their exceptional essays.

As part of college admissions counseling, he guides students through the process of self-discovery, helping them reflect on their inner selves in order to convey their goals and personalities through authentic essays. He assists with everything from selecting the right colleges to preparing for the application process, ensuring the guidance is tailored to each student’s individual needs. His students have been accepted to several excellent universities, including Brown University, Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins, Boston University, Northeastern, UCLA, Manchester Metropolitan University, University of East Anglia, and more.
